Photo taken 01 May 2007 - The pink bush is a flowering almond and the flowers below are creeping phlox. I know this is suppose to be "wordless", but the flowering almond plant is a start off a plant that was an old established plant (probably from the 1930's or before) in our yard when I was growing up in Tumwater, Washington. That was back in the 1950's. My mother gave my sister-in-law Kathy a start off the plant in the 1970's. Kathy had always told me that she would give me a start off the 'heritage' plant when I had a place I wanted to put it. That was two years ago... That flowering almond comes from pretty sturdy stock, doesn't it?
