I bought some new headphones to use with my 7" Kindle Fire HDX and when I got them plugged into the Kindle they just wouldn't play stereo. Most of the time I have a mental list of things to try to fix something.
- Check the equipment - I plugged the headphones into my iPhone, no stereo sound; plugged them into the laptop port, still no stereo. But, I did notice a difference...*
- Look for a solution on the web - Just to be sure, I did a search in Google for a solution and really found nothing concrete, but I did read some comments on Amazon Customer Discussions for Kindle and one comment said the person finally got it working by "pushing really hard to get it plugged in".
So, I went back and checked my equipment again and this time when I pushed the plug into the jack I did push extra hard. THAT did the trick. It has to be fully seated in the jack to get stereo through the headphones. It does take a little strength in your hands, so if that's an issue ask for help.
The bottom line is, it is NOT your Kindle, it's NOT your headphones, it's just a matter of using some strength to push in the jack. I hadn't used my jack in the Kindle before, so that could be a factor too. It might have to get "loosened up" by having a plug put in it a few times.
