Obviously, we are in the process of training our clematis this year. The clematis itself has been on the east side of our house for the last fifteen years or so. It's well established, but sadly, it's been neglected when it comes to being able to branch out and really spread its tendrils. The photo only shows one of the light blue flowers it produces in abundance, but believe me, they are very pretty.
It might be hard to see in this photo but the two round trellises are held securely to the side of the house with two brackets top and bottom. Jim painted them before putting them up and attaching them to the trellises. Even more difficult to see, unless you enlarge the picture, are the three lengths of blue plastic covered wire the vines will be able to follow.
I hope in years to come our lovely clematis will be able to reach out and be the vine it's meant to be.
