This might very well be the same bird that was here last year. From my Google search they can live quite a long time given optimum conditions. These latest pictures aren't really my best because I didn't want to scare it away and by opening the patio door. So, this is my best shot through glass from a distance and the bird was in shadow.
If nothing else, this shows that leaving your suet cakes up into spring is a welcome find for our feathered friends.
