Many years ago Roger and Bridgette Lehet were living on their sailboat, trying to keep warm and dry through a very cold Washington winter. That’s when the idea for a compact, but efficient, wood stove was born.
This gem of a heat source has gone through many incarnations since then, and the creator has spent thousands of dollars of his own money to perfect it so that it meets all standards for use in homes, RV’s, boats, and even free standing if someone wanted to take it outside for a heat source like at a tailgate party.
I first saw the Kimberly in use at our friend’s home here in Port Orchard. What a little gem of a stove! Weighing in at just 56 pounds, it’s footprint is quite small, and because of it’s unique way of emitting heat (through the flat top of the stove and the front through the windowed door) it can be placed fairly close to a wall with no worry.
Rather than me go on about the specifications, I would suggest you visit the website Unforgettable Fire Presents The Kimberly Stove where you can get up to speed on the latest features as well as those that are coming soon (an oven, thermo electric generator to produce power, and a water coiled unit to produce hot water). One log can burn up to 8 hours and heat up to 1500 feet.
