She's Up and Running...But Not Online
My new iPod Touch 4G arrived this last Monday and I immediately opened it and turned it on. I'm kind of middle of the road geeky and thought I would be able to set it up in no time. Um, I was wrong. In fact, almost embarrassingly wrong.
My laptop was sitting near me on the couch and it was connecting to our network just fine, so I knew that wasn't the problem. I checked to make sure I had the security connection setting right (WPA2) and put in the alpha numerical Network Key. Nothing.
My friends and family on Facebook weighed in on my difficulty, but I was "missing something". (Duh, perhaps a brain?).
"All Systems Go" Captain!
As it turned out, the only thing I had done wrong was not to put my Network Key in all CAPS. As my son mentioned in passing, THE NETWORK KEY IS CASE SENSITIVE. When I did that it was "instant" that I was connected to the Internet.
