In no way do I think quakes are funny. We just had the big Haiti 7.0 quake earlier this month, and then a while ago today (or, tomorrow Japanese time) there was one the same size near Okinawa. When I went to look at the earthquake site my world view picture on the screen looked like this:
Well Dick Cheney, it might be that your karma is catching up with you. I mean, obviously you have a heart or you wouldn't be having chest pains, but really, it was right after you admitted that you were a proponent of water-boarding torture, you had another pain. I suspect that perhaps someone (or many someones?) got out the ol' voodoo doll and took their frustrations out on you. Since you have done the most harm to our military by saying what you did, I wouldn't blame any of them if they were doing the jabbing. Maybe a good poke or two with a cattle prod too for good measure... ? Just sayin'...
I recently made a donation to our friend's at Fibroduck, and there is my 'reward' right up there. See that cute little duck in the daffodils? He's mine now. For the price of postage I got to put him right in the midst of my flowers and take his picture. I have entitled this one, "Daffys and Duck". Catchy, huh? Fibroduck isn't a for profit organization, nor are they raising any money for charities. What they are doing is raising awareness of fibromyalgia through their campaign.
Why a duck for a mascot? Well, people who have fibromyalgia are different. They used to be able to do so many things, just like other people. Then, fibro struck and they can't function like they want to. Sort of like... ducks out of water. If you would like more information about Fibroduck or fibromyalgia, please visit their site and click on one of the links on their main page.
Clicking the photo above will take you to my picture on the Fibroduck website. I'm posting this of my own free will and I am not a paid sponsor.

What's new on the infant care line horizon? It’s Babies R Us the brand, now in their
stores! It includes everything from diapers, formula, baby wipes, detergent, and
purified water at significantly lower prices (as much as 50%) so you know you're getting a trusted brand as well as affordable products for your family.
year, this product line made it’s debut in Babies R Us and Toys R Us stores,
and I can imagine it was a hit with anyone looking for one-stop shopping for the little ones. It might initially be a surprise that Babies R Us would offer their own brand of formula, but when you think about it, why not? Other stores like warehouse and chain grocers are offering their own high quality store brands too, and truthfully, I, for one, like them just as well if not better.
Let's face it, the economy is tight and there doesn't seem to be any reversal of that on the near horizon. As I mentioned in a tweet recently, store brands are just as good as national brands. It's the name that's different, not the quality. Babies R Us and Toys R Us make it easy to buy their trusted brand and do your infant shopping all in one place.
Awww, what a thoughtful and funny guy to make this special Valentine for his wife. Those Minnesotans have a wicked sense of humor, eh? Ya, shure, you betcha! When it doubt, say it with manure. BTW, his wife thought it was funny.
Today was cash back day from Ebates, and my PalPal account is $19.40 richer because I shop through the site. I've been using Ebates for many years now and over time my shopping has netted me over $500. I was especially happy to see my latest rebate from Roxio was a whopping $14.76!
There are over 1200 businesses that use Ebates and as you can see, you can get some pretty good deals. It's FREE to sign up, and the only thing you need to remember to do is shop through a link on the site for the store you want. I will disclose that this is an affiliate article, but I truly use this site and recommend them highly. Please give Ebates a try.
It was like a ticking time bomb in my husband's body and we never put two and two together until a recent lab result showed an elevated TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level. His doctor prescribed a thyroid drug LEVOTHYROXINE 0.075MG (75MCG) TAB for him right away, but it wasn't until we started looking for reasons why a thyroid level might be affected did we think about what Jim's dad had told him regarding radiation treatments Jim had as a small boy.
Referred to as Nasal Radium Irradiation (NRI), it was a common procedure done on military members such as pilots and submariners for ear problems, but it was also widely accepted as a cure for childhood ear infections in civilians.
Jim was four when he had his multiple NRI treatments. At the time, this was 'cutting edge' medicine and no one really knew the effects it could have forty or fifty years later. In talking to his dad today, he told Jim that he went every day for this treatment for like a week. His doctor's name was Edward Carey and this all took place in Clinton, Iowa during 1953.
