What are your fitness goals? What is helping or preventing you from accomplishing them?

A couple weeks ago I had an appointment with my doctor and he told me that I 'fit the criteria' for being diabetic. He told me to get more exercise, change my diet and he put me on Metformin. Now, that's pretty scary. Enough so that I did what he said right away.
The challenge is that I have fibromyalgia and there are some days I just am so exhausted that I can't even get out to walk. Many days I force myself to do it because I know I have to, but it hurts like bloody hell. "Normal" people can just take up something like walking and build up their endurance. It doesn't work that way for me, and if I do too much it actually sets me back. Unless family and friends totally understand what it's like to have fibromyalgia, that just makes things that much harder too. At least mentally and emotionally. Do they actually think I want to be overweight and diabetic?
I'll keep trying though. There's no alternative.
