It's not very often that I cry my way through the local nightly news, but I did tonight. Terrible things happen and are reported each night on the news, so maybe I too have become numb to the sad things that people do to each other.
As you all know, our son and his wife just had a new baby girl born to them. Our situation is a world away from what happened to the little baby boy that was born to a local Port Angeles teenage girl. The girl had been living with her mother in Colorado, and then moved to Washington state right before the baby was born in order to live with her father.
The thing that struck both my husband and I was what made the situation so bad for this girl that she felt she had to kill this baby by drowning him in the toilet? Fear? Shame? Hopelessness? This girl was failed by her mother and her father. And the guy who "allegedly" got her pregnant...let me at him. I have a special punishment for him. If the girl knew what she was doing by killing that baby, then she deserves to be punished too. Still, it's beyond my comprehension how someone could kill a baby, and then dump it in the trash can! It just makes me want to scream...
Rest in Peace Baby Boy, Rest in Peace. ♥♥♥
