I was inspired today to doodle on some rocks. What do you think of the effort? I need more practice, but it was a fun exercise. It was very easy actually. Open door, walk out on front porch, step off porch and pick up rocks; grab my trusty sharpie pens and doodle away.

I love the convenience of doing things online, but today I found that convenience doesn't always mean saving money. I refer to the service of Fandango where you can buy your theater tickets online and then go to the movie with them all paid for. Yeah, right.
Our theater is about 1/2 mile away, and we usually just go to a matinee to save money and not be subjected to the hoards of kids. Well, that's always the plan anyway. So, I plunked in my Regal Crown info to get my points, my debit card info to pay for it, and as I am checking out I see they have tacked on a $2.50 convenience charge! I guess that is to pay for them having to process the credit/debit card, but I learned a lesson today: faster is not always cheaper or better.
We are going to see Journey to the Center of the Earth. I have seen the 1959 version with Pat Boone many times, and always enjoy it. James Mason was a favorite actor too. And who can forget Gertrude?

As more and more boomers head into retirement, this kind of recording activity is only going to increase. We will (hopefully) have more time to get those LP's onto disk and free up some needed space in the closets. We plan to buy a USB turntable and do that very thing when my husband retires on August 1st. Let the games, er, music begin!

I was really heartened to run across this press release about the Think Conference. Instead of the usual drum beat by politicians about what they would do, taking it one step further is an online venue called i-Think. It is an online network where sustainability and regeneration will be discussed. This will be for professionals in the built environment (structures, etc.), but I hold great hope that it will be idea sharing and not just a debate forum where nothing gets accomplished.
We need to stop worrying about whether or not we are having global warming and get into high gear to make our planet livable now, and for the future generations. The video introduces you to the concept. For more in-depth information please visit i-Think's site.
What we need is for all these thinkers to not concentrate so much on their bottom line, but on the good for all humans.

It's been a fairly boring week around here for catz. Hi, this is Rocky and I am in cat hell-o because my mommy is so busy with that clicky clicky tapity tap thing all day that she rarely gives me any attention. Sometimes though, she puts my snakey in the catnip and the two of us go wild. Me and the snake. Mom is still boring.Gotta love her though, she buys me Greenies!
