Remembering Mr. Wizard, With Thanks

In more simple times during my childhood, we had shows that predated even Sesame Street, but were no less entertaining, rewarding and educational. When the TV show Mr. Wizard first came on the scene in the 1950's we spent our Saturday mornings enthralled with his experiments. Don Herbert was a genuine person who spoke to kids about science in a fatherly but not demeaning manner, and was like a friend to all of us. As I said, those were innocent days, but I have always thought of this man fondly. To this day, I can still hear his gentle voice, and I hope he knew just how special he was to several generations of kids. Thanks Mr. Wizard! Rest in Peace.
