AT&T chases tempting idea - Yahoo! News
Link: AT&T chases tempting idea - Yahoo! News. If AT& T can offer a substantially cheaper way for me to get my cable, broadband and throw in TiVo-like service, I would be ready to jump on the waiting list. Right now, we spend $97 a month on digital cable and broadband. That is just for one TV in the household to get digital cable, and the medium range of broadband (which is fine, so far). But we also spend close to $70 per month on local and long distance phone service, which takes a big bite out of our monthly budget.
I am still not on board with cable or phone through my computer, but I probably just don't know enough about it. Our cable provider, Wave Cable, has been touting it for about a year, but it is hard to get people to switch when we don't know if we can count on it. Here in the Pacific Northwest we have too many possible disasters (earthquake, storms, volcano eruptions, etc.) to put our faith in unproven technology just yet.
